Tibet Everest base camp trekking trip starts with drive from Kathmandu through the friendship bridge. After completion of the immigration formalities at Zhangmu we drive to Nyalam, the first night. Next day we continue drive to Old Tingri and start trekking to North Everest Base Camp. Tibet Everest base camp trek will follow the historic expedition route from Old Tingri to Rongbuk crossing over the Langma La pass-16,900 feet. Following the route to North Everest Base Camp you will have enough time to explore the Rongbuk glacier below the massive north-face of Mt. Everest. After having the magnificent views of worlds highest mountain scenery you will be back to Kathmandu.

Day to day itinerary:

  • Day 1:Arrival in Beijing, then connecting flight to Chengdu
  • Day 2:In the early morning fly to Tibet, in the afternoon rest and acclimatize
  • Day 3:Lhasa: visit Potala Palace and Johkang temple and walk around the famous Barkor Street
  • Day 4:Lhasa: visit Drepung and Sera monastery.
  • Day 5:Lhasa-Gyantse, visit Yamdrok Lake and Palkor monastery.
  • Day 6:Gyantse-Shigatse, visit Tashilunpo monastery in Shigatse
  • Day 7:Shigatse-Latse, 1N in simple Guesthouse
  • Day 8:Latse-Saga, a whole day’s driving, about 300km. The army town of Saga(4600m) is the last town of any size on thsis route.1N in simple Guesthouse

  • Day 14:Lake Manasarovar. We will camp another night at this sacred lake. We will take a walk up to the Chiu Monastery, located atop a cliff, to enjoy the spectacular view of the lake. Camping
  • Day 15:Darchen-Tsada, The road to Thsada is terrible, and go over some very high passes, taking a whole day.We will spend a day driving to Zhanda, a small town situated deep in a valley. The drive itself offers a breathtaking view of sand-rock formations shaping
  • Day 17:Tsada-Lhasa,We will return to Lhasa by retracing the original route we took, stopping on the way to play frisbee in the grasslands with Tibetan children or photographing golden haired yaks grazing in the sunset
  • Day 21:Lhasa-Chengdu-Beijing, in the early morning transfer to airport and fly to Chengdu, then connecting flight to Beijing, self transfer to hotel and then free time.
