Ghorepani poon hill trek is one of the most famous and short destination trek which falls under the Annapurna region trekking trails offers the great panoramic views of Himalayas. Main attraction of Ghorepani trekking is the series of mountains views like Dhaulagiri 8167m, Annapurna I 8091m, Machhapuchchhre 6998m, Nilgiri 7041m, Annapurna south 7219m, Annapurna II 7939m, Annapurna III 7555m, Annapurna IV 7525m, Lamjung Himal 6988m, Hiunchuli 6441m, Tukuche peak 6920m etc. Trekkers who are lack of time and interested in doing trek then they can do this trek of a week and make their life time memory. The trek starts from Nayapul of Pokhara. A  Glimpse of the snow-capped peaks turning from grey to pink to brilliant white is just awe-inspiring. This trek can be done all year round although spring and autumn is considered as the best trekking season with ethnic group of Magar and Gurung. We can catch the glimps of surise from the Poonhill early in the morning and sunset in the evening but mostly trekkers just overserve the beautiful sunrise view early in the morning.

Day to day itinerary:

  • Day 1:Ktm - Pokhara
  • Day 2:Pokhara - Tikhedunga(1500m)
  • Day 3:Tikhedunga - Ghorepani(2860m
  • Day 4:Ghorepani -Tadapani (2700m)
  • Day 5:Tapadani – Ghandruk Village (1980m)
  • Day 6:Ghandruk - Pokhara
  • Day 7:Pokhara - kathmandu

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 1Ktm - Pokhara
    We will drive to Pokhara from kathmandu about 6-7 hours covering 200m with paved road. We start moving around 7;00 am early in the morning from Kantipath or any other tourist bus station.
  • Day 2Pokhara - Tikhedunga(1500m)
    Breakfast at hotel in Pokhara and drive to Nayapul by private jeep or local bus for about one and half hour and trek starts to Tikhedunga. We will hike for 3-4 hours in a day crossing the suspension bridge at the bottom of Tikhedunga having the beautiful village scenery which looks green everywhere. We walk upstairs to reach Tikhedunga and overnight at hotel/lodge.
  • Day 3Tikhedunga - Ghorepani(2860m
    Breakfast at the hotel around 6;30 am and start walking for the day to Ghorepani. Today will be an easy day to walk into the green jungle shed and fresh environment which will keep you mentally and physically fit crossing different villages of Magar and many other ethnic groups. You can see the colorful Rhododendron if you trek in fall all the long way until you reach Ghorepani. We will overstay tonight at hotel. Total walking hours is 7 hours.
  • Day 4Ghorepani -Tadapani (2700m)
    Early in the morning around 4:45 we will hike at the top of Ghorepani to Poonhill(3210m) to catch the sunrise view for about 45 mins and then walk down to the hotel . Breakfast will be served by the hotel staff and start walking to Tadapani for about 6/7 hours in a whole day.
  • Day 5Tapadani – Ghandruk Village (1980m)
    After breakfast in the hotel as usual we will start hiking to Ghandruk village for about 3 hrs, Then we reach to Ghandruk Village(Gurung community) and lunch there and rest for some time. During the half day we will have a sightseeing around the village of Gurung museum, Buddhist monastery and share information about Gurung culture and tradition.
  • Day 6Ghandruk - Pokhara
    Today there will be 1 hours of walk for the day and drive to Pokhara by jeep or van
  • Day 7Pokhara - kathmandu
    Drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara by tourist bus.
